This time Kendal will play a significant role in the story. Reigner and Kendal appear in the present day world and find that the place has been ravaged by an alien like race know as the Enclabossians, mutated creatures born of the taint of the dark power from Encablossa. The game takes place 150 years after the conclusion of Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders. Story Many old characters will be returning. This could possible be a new unit or a successor to the "mammoth" in the original game. Finally, near the end of the trailer, a large creature was shown stomping through the battlefield and crushing units under it's feet. Another interesting aspect of the trailer is the fact that archers were seen on top of a castle wall, possible hinting at castle sieges. "Wyverns" were also shown but this time it seems you will have the option to directly control them. The number of units seem to be in-game and number in the estimated thousands. It showed a new character wielding a large sword and also being able to shoot guns. On November 13, 2008, a trailer was released to the public. The Encablossians are let by the Dark Warrior Regnier who allied himself with Encabblosa while trapped in the Dark Dimension. The game will feature both a single player storyline and a Massively Multiplayer Online RTS mode allowing players to do battle on an epic scale and gain control of the world map. ![]() Announced on January 28th 2008, Kingdom Under Fire II will be published by Phantagram and developed by Blueside and is set to release sometime in 2012. I see this game failing quick and hard if the only way to play it is online through the publisher's servers. This time the online mode will be similar to MMO game worlds. I might also bite if they have a private server option that you could play with friends after the official servers go down. So what's the verdict? I would buy this game if it offered some sort of offline, single player mode that could be enjoyed post server closure. It also seems to maintain the "P2W" cash shop of the free to play model, judging by the different game packages offered up for sale. They seem to be flying this game in under the radar, avoiding major distribution platforms such as Steam. It only lasted a couple years in its native country. If its track record is any indication the publishers have zero problems pulling the plug on this game after a year (Russia). I guess you assume the risk of a "here today, gone tomorrow" existence with a free to play game, as it was in other regions, but they are charging for KUF2 now. Does the game essentially become impossible to play? ![]()
